ABCD Community Heroes Celebration

What? Come join Service-Learning community partner Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) as they celebrate 22 exceptional volunteers with Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award winner Audra McDonald. These individuals share their skills, time, and compassion to light the way for under-resourced & at-risk children, youth, adults, elders and families in Greater Boston. ABCD is Boston’s anti-poverty agency serving and empowering more than 100,000 people each year through a broad range of proven and innovative programs and services. Helping individuals and families get from where they are to where they want to be, they provide resources and opportunities that allow them to move from poverty to stability and from stability to success.

24th Annual Taste of Jamaica Plain

What? Come celebrate the 24th Taste of Jamaica Plain! Enjoy a variety of food and beverages from local restaurants and caterers. There will be great auction opportunities, musical entertainment, and lots of fun for all ages! This event is the 24th annual benefit to support ESAC, a community-based nonprofit that provides multiple services to youth, seniors, and families. This organization uses these proceeds to help fund the programs and services they have been providing the neighborhood since 1965.

Boston Christmas Festival 2019

What? Boost your spirit by attending Boston’s annual Christmas festival! Browse the over 350 pop up shops by American Artisans who sell items ranging from arts and crafts to scrumptious food items. Being that there are over 350 pop ups, there is something for everyone. Click here to see the specific artisans that will be attending!
The event will be going on for three days, so there is no excuse to miss this amazing opportunity!

Boston International Antiquarian Book Fair

What? Come join the 43rd annual Boston Book Fair! It is a great place for book lovers and collectors to explore the top selection of items on the international literary market. This event is a gathering of U.S. and international dealers and is sanctioned by the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of America and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. This event hosts booksellers from across the world and exhibits a variety of rare books, illuminated manuscripts, autographs, photographs, and much more!

Building Communities of Resilience: Substance Use Disorder

What? Come join the discussion at the Museum of Science to explore how we can build communities of resilience around substance abuse disorders. This event, hosted and funded by the Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute and the National Institute of Health, encourages you to share your perspective as groups work together to create a community plan while learning about methods of prevention and recovery.

Community Coffee Hour

What? Are you interested in meeting new people within your community? If so, you should attend the Coffee Community hour, hosted at the Neighborhood Network Center! Food Development Meeting

What? Are you passionate about food? If so, come to Clover Food Labs food development meeting where you will get the opportunity to taste new menu items, consider new products from local farmers or producers, and discuss food quality control for Clover! The sharing of recipes is also encouraged! If you would like to submit a recipe fill out this google form.
