The Service-Learning Program at Northeastern really decided to switch some things up this semester with their signature event. The Fall 2018 Service-Learning Reception & Virtual EXPO on Thursday, December 6th, from 10-11:30, brought together over 200 people. Community partners, faculty, S-L students, Northeastern community members, and S-L student leaders all came together to celebrate a successful semester of collaboration.
This semester’s Reception included a speaking program and a come-and-go as you please time to network and view the new Virtual EXPO. Our featured speakers, Dr. Sue Freeman and Adreenne Law shared the details of their long standing partnership between the Cornerstone’s of Engineering course and the Timothy Smith Network. We want to extend a sincere thank you Sue & Adreenne for your partnership and dedication to Service-Learning and our communities.
If you missed the Reception, don’t worry, the beauty of our new Virtual EXPO is that now you can still view the Digital Artifacts on our new website! Our Virtual EXPO website is home to Digital Artifacts that represent the collaboration happening each semester between our students, faculty, and community partners. This platform will continue to be used for semesters to come, so we can continue to spread the service-learning spirit of partnerships and be inclusive of those who cannot join us at the Reception.
Our program is so grateful to have such an incredible network of partners, faculty, and students. Thank you to the Service-Learning Teaching Assistants, Team Managers and Street Team members for all of your hard work in making this event and semester a success. Thank you to the Service-Learning Advisory Board (S-LAB), the Center of Community Service, and City and Community Affairs for your dedication and support to our program.
