Role within service-learning: Service-Learning Teaching Assistant
Did you find service-learning or did service-learning find you?
Service-Learning definitely found me. I was taking a class in the spring and my professor asked anyone if they would would like to be a teaching assistant for her class happening in the fall and that’s when I learned about service-learning. I’ve always loved education and doing service so the combination of both was very exciting to me.
That it is more than just a rewarding experience. You get to meet so many different people on campus, all who have such an important stake and care so much about you and the students. You also get to know so many community organizations around Boston who are doing such great work.
If service-learning was a color what would it be?
It would be the color yellow. Just like the color yellow, service-learning is a creative and fun experience. Students and faculty are great to work with in the classroom because they have so much bright and engaging energy that creates a really welcoming environment.
