What is one thing everyone should know about service-learning?
Service-Learning is a fantastic way to get the best of both worlds. Not only do students fulfill academic and educational goals, but they also interact with the community becoming more engaged with different cultures and perspectives.
How are your values expressed through your community engagement and service-learning work?
I constantly try to work on empathy. Through community engagement and service-learning, I become more adept at listening to others and helping those with what they need, not what I think they need. This is really important for me because I tend to steamroll others with my opinions. Community engagement has been a space where I have learned to take a step back, while still feeling useful.
If Service-Learning was a type of color, what would it be?
It would be a rainbow because everyone comes together!
