What organization do you represent: Speak for the Trees

How are your values expressed through your community engagement and Service-Learning work?
We aim to connect residents to their community through appreciating and inventorying trees as a way to connect people to space and neighbors.

What is one thing everyone should know about Service-Learning?
It’s a great way to give back and connect

Did you find Service-Learning or did Service-Learning find you?
A local resident from Chester Square Neighbors connected us.

What is your favorite memory of Service-Learning?
Walking along Huntington Ave with 4 students and watching them quickly learn and appreciate the trees.

If Service-Learning were an animal, what would it be and why?
A hawk – appreciating the tree canopy below.

If Service-Learning were a color, what would it be and why?
Green. Of course.

If Service-Learning were a song, what would it be and why?
U2 – something from the Joshua Tree. Where the Street Have No Name (because we just care about the trees.)

If Service-Learning were a food, what would it be and why?
A local fruit. Pawpaw?
